WENATCHEE, Wash. — Authorities are intensifying their search for Travis Decker, a Washington man charged with murdering his three young daughters, as new evidence reveals he researched fleeing to Canada days before the killings. The suspect remains at large, prompting a nationwide manhunt led by the U.S. Marshals Service.

According to an affidavit obtained by Fox 13 Seattle on June 6, 2025, Decker searched online for “how to relocate to Canada” and “how does a person move to Canada” on May 26. He also reportedly visited a Canadian job site, raising concerns among investigators that he may attempt to cross the border. “The victims’ remains were found near the Canadian border, approximately 11 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail, which leads directly into Canada,” the affidavit noted, as reported by Fox 13 Seattle.

Decker faces three counts of first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping in the deaths of his daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5. The girls were last seen alive on May 30 during a scheduled visitation with their father, according to the Wenatchee Police Department. On May 31, authorities issued an endangered missing persons alert, stating the children were “believed to be missing and unable to return home on their own.”

On June 2, police located the bodies of the three girls near the Rock Island Campground in Leavenworth, Washington, where Decker’s pickup truck was also found, per Fox 13 Seattle. A preliminary report cited by the outlet indicates the cause of death for all three sisters was likely asphyxiation. Investigators discovered two bloody handprints on the truck, along with a blanket, food, car seats, and a wallet inside, according to court documents reported by Fox 13 Seattle.

“We are searching anywhere and everywhere for him,” Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison told NBC Right Now on June 6, 2025. Authorities have warned that Decker, a former military member, poses “a significant risk” if approached.

Court documents also reveal that Decker’s cell phone activity placed him at the same campground a day before the alleged kidnapping, as reported by Fox 13 Seattle. The U.S. Marshals Service has not responded to requests for comment as of June 7, 2025.

The investigation has drawn national attention, with police offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to Decker’s arrest, according to ABC News on June 6, 2025. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact local law enforcement immediately.
