LOS ANGELES — After four days of gripping courtroom testimony detailing alleged abuse by music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, Alex Fine — husband of Casandra “Cassie” Ventura — has issued an emotional public statement lauding his wife’s resilience and denouncing her accused abuser.

Fine’s remarks came Friday, just as the first week of Combs’ high-profile civil trial came to a close. The trial, unfolding in a Los Angeles federal court, stems from Ventura’s explosive lawsuit filed last year, which includes allegations of years-long physical, sexual, and psychological abuse by Combs.

“This report is based on verified updates from AP, CNN, and other reputable sources. All facts have been checked and confirmed by our editorial team.”

In his statement to reporters, Fine, 32, addressed both the courtroom drama and the intense public scrutiny surrounding the case. “You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room,” he wrote, directly referencing Combs and those Fine claims enabled him.

Sitting in court for hours as his wife — now eight months pregnant with their third child — described traumatic events, Fine said he experienced “profound anger,” but also “tremendous pride and overwhelming love.”

“I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself,” Fine stated. “Cassie saved Cassie.”

Ventura, 37, filed a civil lawsuit in November 2023 accusing Combs of repeated assaults, forced drug use, and human trafficking during their decade-long relationship. Just one day after the suit was filed, Combs settled the case — a move that sparked public backlash and demands for further accountability.

But in the months since, mounting pressure and new video evidence — including 2016 surveillance footage obtained by CNN showing Combs kicking Ventura in a hotel hallway — prompted federal investigators to open a wider probe into his alleged conduct.

The current trial, although not criminal in nature, features damning testimony from Ventura and others, painting a picture of systematic abuse and manipulation. Combs has denied all allegations through his legal team.

Fine has been an outspoken supporter of his wife. In 2019, he ran a marathon to raise awareness for domestic violence victims. He also shared a pointed message on Instagram earlier this year after the hotel video went public: “Men who hit women aren’t men.”

On Friday, Fine reiterated his commitment to his wife and their family, writing: “You did not break the soul of a mother who gives the best hugs and plays the silliest games with our little girls. You did not break the woman who has made me a better man.”

The couple, who married in 2019 and share two daughters, is expecting their third child this summer.

What’s Next:
The trial resumes Monday with additional witnesses expected to take the stand. Combs has not appeared in court so far. Legal experts anticipate several more weeks of proceedings.

As the nation watches the courtroom closely, the case has renewed attention on the broader issue of domestic violence and the power dynamics that can shield alleged abusers from accountability — particularly in the entertainment industry.
